Rules and Regulations

Hello and Welcome!

We politely request that you take a moment and fully read the following.

The 51st Regiment is a serious and committed regiment, with a high standard of discipline and respect for one another. By joining our ranks you acknowledge that you have familiarized yourself with the below and that you agree to follow its terms and remember the information provided.

Structure

The 51st Regiment of Foot is structured around British Army organization - meaning that we have a Chain of Command in which you will come to be a part. We expect every member to follow and respect this chain.

Our current structure is organized as follows:
  1. High Command
  2. Commissioned Officers
  3. Non-Commissioned Officers
  4. Enlisted

For a more detailed overview, please visit the forums here.

If you have any questions, concerns or information during training or events, that you wish to discuss with a Commissioned Officer (CO) or high command, you will not go directly to them, but instead, you will talk with your assigned Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), who will then advance the subject if required.

During events we run a "permission to speak" system or PTS for short. When "PTS is in effect" it is required that all members remain completely silent and listen to the instructions given by either the COs or NCOs, absolutely no talking is tolerated during this period. If for whatever reason should the need arise that you need to communicate something to a senior staff member you can do so either by saying "PTS" or typing "PTS" in team chat. If permission is given by a CO you may "break PTS" and speak. By joining you agree to obey by this system!

Outside of organised events any query or problem you may have can be addressed to any veteran member of the Regiment. Ask and they will do their very best to help you.

Promotions

Being a tightly structured and disciplined regiment, we adhere to a military style of ranking.
Promotions are handled by officers during and after trainings, and they will eventually go your way if you show commitment and improvement.

Promotions are handled by officers during and after trainings. Promotions are earned not given, if you show commitment and improvement your efforts will not go unnoticed.

Trainings and Events

If you are able, you must participate in any scheduled trainings or events. While real life commitments take precedence over activities, we frown upon members playing other games during trainings and events.

We take attendance during both events and training. If we find you to be consistently absent without reason you will be considered inactive, you're of course welcome to rejoin at any time.

The training and event schedule can be found above.

Non-weekly events will be announced on the main page.

Expectations of you as a recruit

When you first enlist in the regiment, you will go through a 2-4 week introductory period, in which you will be instructed in the rules of Napoleonic warfare, the game itself and how we do things in the 51st.

Completion of this trial period will result in enlistment wherein you shall be considered an official member of the 51st Regiment.

Please follow the below points during your time here as both a recruit and as an active member;
  • Show commitment by participating in the scheduled events;
  • Improve yourself in the game in all aspects of combat, this being melee, shooting, tactics and following orders;
  • Show a high level of discipline by following the directions of your officers during training and line battles;
  • Represent the 51st in the best possible way inside and outside of the game.

More information will follow during trainings and battles. You will be given a detailed explanation of these rules and more during your time in boot camp.

We hope that you take on board all of the above and that you become an active, mature and productive member of both the Regiment and wider community.

Welcome to the 51st Regiment of Foot!

Good luck and have fun!
